Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2-3 green chilies, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, julienned
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, egg, salt, and pepper to make a batter. Dip the marinated chicken pieces in the batter and deep fry until golden brown. Set aside.
  • In a separate pan, heat some oil and sauté garlic, ginger, green chilies, bell pepper, and onion until fragrant.
  • Add soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  • Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss until well coated.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
