Chicken Supreme

About this recipe

A modern twist on the classic Chicken Supreme, this dish features boneless, skinless chicken breasts enveloped in a rich, creamy sauce with mushrooms and a hint of white wine. Perfect for an elegant family dinner or a special occasion, this recipe is both simple to prepare and satisfyingly gourmet.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx. 2 lbs)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 8 oz button mushrooms, halved
  • 1/3 cup dry white wine
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chicken breasts on both sides.

  4. 4

Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the mushrooms until they are golden.

  5. 5

Add the garlic to the mushrooms and cook until fragrant. Deglaze the pan with white wine, allowing it to reduce by half.

  6. 6

Stir in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese, mixing until well combined.

  7. 7

Return the chicken to the skillet, coat with the sauce, and transfer everything to a baking dish.

  8. 8

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Chef's tip

For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken in a bit of lemon juice and herbs before cooking.
