Ingredients

  • 1 kg octopus
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  • 1. Clean and wash the octopus thoroughly.
  • 2. Cut the octopus into small pieces.
  • 3. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions.
  • 4. Saute the onions until golden brown.
  • 5. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • 6. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies.
  • 7. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • 8. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala.
  • 9. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  • 10. Add the octopus pieces and mix well.
  • 11. Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the octopus is tender.
  • 12. Add lemon juice and salt to taste.
  • 13. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • 14. Serve hot with rice or roti.
