Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh white fish fillets, such as snapper or halibut
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the fish fillets into small, bite-sized pieces.
- In a glass or ceramic bowl, combine the lime juice, lemon juice, and orange juice.
- Add the fish to the citrus juice mixture, making sure all the pieces are submerged.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the fish is opaque and firm.
- Remove the fish from the citrus juice mixture and discard the liquid.
- In a separate bowl, combine the red onion, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, and avocado.
- Add the fish to the vegetable mixture and gently toss to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the ceviche chilled, either on its own or with tortilla chips or crackers.
