Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the bacon grease and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and bacon grease. Toss to coat the spaghetti in the bacon grease.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and pour in the egg and cheese mixture. Toss the spaghetti until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles.
  • Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss to combine.
  • Serve the carbonara immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
