Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat some olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Add the ground beef and pork. Cook until browned and cooked through.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, milk, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions.
- Once the sauce is done, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve the sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
