Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mashed bananas
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon banana extract
  • Yellow food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Preheat your donut maker or preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
  • If using a donut maker, follow the manufacturer's instructions to cook the donuts. If using a donut pan, spoon the batter into the pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
