Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mashed bananas
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon banana extract
- Yellow food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Preheat your donut maker or preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
- If using a donut maker, follow the manufacturer's instructions to cook the donuts. If using a donut pan, spoon the batter into the pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
- Remove the donuts from the donut maker or pan and let them cool on a wire rack.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, banana extract, and yellow food coloring (if using) until smooth.
- Once the donuts are completely cooled, use a piping bag or a small knife to fill each donut with the banana cream filling.
- Serve and enjoy!
