Ingredients

  • 1 block of tofu
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • 1. Press the tofu to remove excess water and cut it into cubes.
  • 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
  • 3. Add the tofu cubes to the pan and cook until they are golden brown on all sides. Remove the tofu from the pan and set it aside.
  • 4. In the same pan, add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  • 5. Add the bell peppers to the pan and cook until they are slightly softened.
  • 6. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water.
  • 7. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan with the vegetables and stir until it thickens.
  • 8. Add the tofu back to the pan and stir until it is coated in the sauce.
  • 9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 10. Serve the Asian hot tofu dish over rice or noodles.
