Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 3 garlic cloves, smashed

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

    Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

    Place lemon, onion, and garlic inside the turkey cavity.

    Place the turkey on a rack set in a roasting pan and pour broth into the pan.

    Roast turkey for 30 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
