About this recipe

This Cajun-inspired dish combines succulent shrimp, spicy sausage, tender corn, and soft potatoes. Each bite is infused with southern spices and jazzed up with a burst of flavor. Perfect for a communal dinner or a festive gathering, it's a one-pan meal that's hearty and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 ears of corn, cut into thirds
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

  2. 2

Sauté the onion and garlic in the skillet until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Add smoked sausage slices and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 3 minutes.

  5. 5

Stir in corn, potatoes, Cajun seasoning, and chicken broth.

  6. 6

Cover and simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

  7. 7

Taste and season with salt and pepper.

  8. 8

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Chef's tip

For a spicier dish, increase the Cajun seasoning or add hot sauce. If you prefer less heat, reduce the Cajun spices.
