Creamy Prawn Pasta

About this recipe

This delightful pasta dish combines perfectly cooked prawns with a creamy and aromatic sauce, enhanced by fresh garlic and a hint of white wine. The addition of Parmesan and parsley elevates the flavors, making it an instant family favorite. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion, it's both easy to prepare and satisfyingly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams spaghetti
  • 450 grams prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 120 milliliters white wine
  • 240 milliliters heavy cream
  • 60 grams grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. 1

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

  2. 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. 4

Add prawns and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes, then remove and set aside.

  5. 5

Pour white wine into the skillet, cooking until reduced by half.

  6. 6

Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan, cooking until the sauce thickens.

  7. 7

Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. 8

Add the cooked spaghetti and prawns back into the skillet, tossing to coat.

  9. 9

Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Chef's tip

Ensure the cream sauce does not boil, as boiling can cause separation.
