Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 potato bread buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for topping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt.
  • Toast the potato bread buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, and cover with the top half of the bun.
