Ingredients
- 8 ounces pasta
- 2 chicken breasts, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet and stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve the chicken tomato sauce over the cooked pasta. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
