Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and oil. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it is smooth and pliable. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and chopped coriander leaves.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll out each ball into a small circle. Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of the circle. Bring the edges of the circle together to cover the filling and form a ball. Flatten the ball and roll it out into a circle.
- Heat a griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the rolled-out paratha on the griddle and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Brush with oil while cooking.
- Serve hot with yogurt or chutney.
