Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese.
  • Transfer mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
