Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 lb jicama
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop pan to medium-high heat.
  • Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the steak and rub the seasoning into the meat.
  • Place the steak on the grill or pan and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your desired doneness.
  • Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • While the steak is resting, peel and cut the jicama into thin strips to resemble fries.
  • In a bowl, toss the jicama fries with avocado oil, salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Spread the jicama fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the jicama fries in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown.
  • Serve the sliced steak with the crispy jicama fries.
  • Enjoy your keto steak frites!
