Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 low-carb buns or lettuce leaves, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the sloppy joes on low-carb buns or lettuce leaves, as desired.
