Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 9 lasagne noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook lamb, onion, garlic, and ginger over medium heat until lamb is browned and onion is tender.
  • Stir in garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  • Add tomatoes and peas; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, and cilantro.
  • Spread 1 cup lamb mixture in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish.
  • Layer with three noodles, 1-1/2 cups lamb mixture, 1/2 cup ricotta mixture and 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers twice.
  • Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Uncover; bake until bubbly, 10-15 minutes longer.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
