Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (optional)
- Special sauce (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Place the patties on the hot skillet and use a spatula to smash them down.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or grill.
- Spread the special sauce on the bottom bun.
- Top with the cooked patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles (if desired), and the top bun.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
