Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup cold beer
  • 1 pound white fish fillets
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper.
  • Gradually add water and beer to the dry ingredients, whisking until smooth.
  • Cover the batter and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
