- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into small cubes.
- Place the sweet potato cubes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the brown sugar, butter, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the pot with the sweet potatoes.
- Mash the sweet potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth and well combined.
- Transfer the mashed sweet potatoes to a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped pecans on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pecans are toasted and the sweet potatoes are heated through.
