Ingredients
- 1 kg lamb, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another minute.
- Add the lamb pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the pureed tomatoes, yogurt, and all the spices to the pot.
- Stir well to combine everything.
- Cover the pot and let the lamb simmer for about 1 hour, or until tender.
- Check the seasoning and adjust as needed.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
