  • 4 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried mustard
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon white pepper
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 pounds chicken pieces

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, paprika, salt, thyme, basil, oregano, celery salt, black pepper, dried mustard, garlic salt, ground ginger, and white pepper.
  • Dip each chicken piece into the buttermilk, then coat it in the flour mixture.
  • Place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
  • Fry the chicken for about 15-20 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Remove the chicken from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
