Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped dried figs
- 1 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, butter, milk, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt. Mix well until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts. Press one part into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the walnuts, dates, and dried figs. Spread this mixture evenly over the dough in the baking dish.
- Take the remaining dough and crumble it over the nut and fruit mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the dessert is baking, heat the honey in a small saucepan over low heat until warm.
- Once the dessert is done baking, remove it from the oven and pour the warm honey over the top.
- Allow the dessert to cool completely before cutting it into squares and serving.
