Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, cut into small pieces
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Saute until the onions are golden brown.
- Add the beef pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to coat the beef with the spices.
- Add the mashed bananas and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the basmati rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the beef is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
