Ingredients

  • 200 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cubed
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 10-12 cashews, soaked in warm water
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  • Heat ghee in a pan and add the chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • Add the tomato puree and cook until the ghee separates from the masala.
  • Meanwhile, grind the soaked cashews into a smooth paste.
  • Add the cashew paste to the pan and mix well.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the paneer cubes and mix gently to coat them with the masala.
  • Add kasuri methi and heavy cream. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with naan or rice.
