Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup boiled and mashed green peas
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the vegetable oil and mix well.
- Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a pan, heat some oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the grated ginger and minced garlic. Saute for a minute.
- Add the finely chopped onions and cook until they turn translucent.
- Add the mashed potatoes, mashed green peas, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Cut each circle in half and form a cone shape by sealing the straight edge with water.
- Fill each cone with the potato and pea mixture and seal the open edge with water.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
