Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 carrot (julienned)
  • 1 cucumber (julienned)
  • 4 sheets of seaweed
  • 4 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper.
  • Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated beef until it's fully cooked.
  • Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
  • Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo mat or a clean surface.
  • Spread a thin layer of cooked rice on the seaweed, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  • Place a few slices of cooked beef, julienned carrot, and julienned cucumber on top of the rice.
  • Roll the seaweed tightly using the bamboo mat or your hands.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining seaweed, rice, beef, carrot, and cucumber.
  • Slice the rolled kimbap into bite-sized pieces.
  • Serve and enjoy!
