Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • 1. Place the chicken thighs in a bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • 3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • 4. Remove the chicken thighs from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each thigh in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly.
  • 5. Carefully place the coated chicken thighs into the hot oil, one at a time. Fry for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
  • 6. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • 7. Serve hot and enjoy!
