- 4 figs
- 1 orange
- 200g haloumi cheese
- Handful of fresh basil leaves
- For the walnut dukkah:
- 50g walnuts
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- 2. Cut the figs into quarters and set aside.
- 3. Peel the orange and separate into segments.
- 4. Cut the haloumi cheese into slices.
- 5. In a dry frying pan, toast the walnuts, sesame seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and fennel seeds until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.
- 6. In a mortar and pestle or a food processor, crush the toasted nuts and seeds until coarsely ground. Add the paprika and salt, and mix well.
- 7. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook the haloumi slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- 8. Arrange the figs, orange segments, and haloumi slices on a serving platter. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves.
- 9. Drizzle the salad with olive oil and sprinkle with the walnut dukkah.
- 10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
