Ingredients

  • 1 lb flat-iron steak
  • 2 tablespoons Ethiopian berbere spice blend
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced into fries
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Rub the steak with berbere, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 30 minutes.

Chef's tip

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve crispy fries. Adjust seasoning of the sauce to taste.
