Ingredients
- 1 lb steak
- 2 tablespoons Ethiopian spice blend
- 4 large potatoes
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1. In a bowl, combine the Ethiopian spice blend, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture all over the steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- 3. While the steak is resting, peel and cut the potatoes into thin fries. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- 5. In a small bowl, mix together the plain yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to make the Ethiopian sauce.
- 6. Slice the steak into thin strips and serve with the crispy fries and Ethiopian sauce. Enjoy!
