Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, parsley, mint, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands.
  • Form the mixture into 12 oblong-shaped koftas and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake the koftas for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.

  • Serve the koftas hot with the tahini sauce on the side.
