Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, parsley, mint, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands.
- Form the mixture into 12 oblong-shaped koftas and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake the koftas for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- While the koftas are cooking, make the tahini sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and water until smooth.
- Serve the koftas hot with the tahini sauce on the side.
