Divine Meringue Delight
Matheus Frederico Ramos dos Santos
This heavenly dessert is light, airy, and oh-so-delicious. The crisp meringue shell gives way to a fluffy, marshmallow-like interior, and the sweet, tangy fruit topping is the perfect complement to the delicate flavors of the meringue.

Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups mixed fresh berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 225°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the cream of tartar and vanilla extract.
- Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming a large circle about 8 inches in diameter. Use a spoon to create a well in the center of the meringue.
- Bake for 2 hours, or until the meringue is crisp and dry on the outside but still slightly soft on the inside. Turn off the oven and let the meringue cool completely inside the oven.
- In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
- Spoon the whipped cream into the well in the center of the meringue. Top with the mixed berries.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional berries if desired.
