Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup ruby chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your hands to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the ruby chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and chopped almonds to the mixture and gently mix until evenly distributed.
- Gradually add cold water, a tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently for a few minutes until smooth.
- Shape the dough into a rectangle and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into triangles, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the tip.
- Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the croissants with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow the croissants to cool slightly before serving.
