Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Continue to cook the sugar mixture, without stirring, until it turns a deep amber color.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully whisk in the cream. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble up.
- Return the saucepan to low heat and stir in the milk and salt. Cook until the mixture is heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture cool completely.
- Once cooled, transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- During the last few minutes of churning, drizzle in the caramel sauce to create swirls.
- Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Serve the caramel ace cream in bowls or cones and enjoy!
