Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 4 chicken thighs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 small watermelon, sliced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken drumsticks and thighs with buttermilk. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Flip the chicken halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the fried chicken with slices of fresh watermelon for a refreshing and delicious combination.
- Enjoy!
