- 4 large potatoes
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into long, thin strips.
- Place the potato strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This will help remove excess starch and make the frites crispier.
- Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to about 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the fryer or pot. Fry them in batches if necessary.
