Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces, chickpea flour, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken pieces with the spices.
  • Add a little water if needed to make a thick batter-like consistency.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai for deep frying.
  • Drop small portions of the chicken mixture into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the fried chicken pokodas from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
