About this recipe

Experience the vibrant flavors of Korea with our Black Diamond Bibimbap. This dish combines perfectly cooked rice topped with an array of seasoned vegetables, marinated beef, and a runny sunny-side-up egg. Drizzled with a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce, it’s a delightful one-bowl meal perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked short-grain rice
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 zucchini, julienned
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 4 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 pound beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, gochujang, and garlic to prepare the sauce.

  2. 2

Marinate beef in half of the sauce for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook beef until browned, 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, stir-fry carrot, zucchini, spinach, bean sprouts, and mushrooms until tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and set aside.

  5. 5

Fry eggs sunny-side-up in the skillet.

  6. 6

Divide rice among bowls, and top with beef, vegetables, and eggs.

  7. 7

Drizzle remaining sauce over the bowls.

  8. 8

Serve hot and mix ingredients before eating.

Chef's tip

For added flavor, consider including kimchi on the side. Adjust the level of gochujang to suit your spice preference.
