Ingredients

  • 2 biefstuk steaks
  • 1 bunch boerenkool (kale), stems removed and leaves chopped
  • 2 apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the steaks reach your desired level of doneness.
  • Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the steaks to a cutting board. Allow them to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • While the steaks are resting, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a separate skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped boerenkool (kale) to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, until wilted.
  • Add the sliced apples to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until softened.
  • Season the boerenkool and apples with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Divide the boerenkool and apples between plates and top with sliced steak.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
