Ingredients
- 2 pounds of beef
- 2 tablespoons of coarse salt
- 2 tablespoons of ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
Instructions
- 1. Slice the beef into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 2. In a bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, brown sugar, coriander seeds, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika.
- 3. Rub the spice mixture onto the beef strips, making sure to coat each strip evenly.
- 4. Place the beef strips in a ziplock bag and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
- 5. After 24 hours, remove the beef strips from the bag and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 6. Preheat your oven to 180°F (82°C).
- 7. Arrange the beef strips on a wire rack and place it in the oven.
- 8. Let the beef biltong dry in the oven for 3-4 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of dryness.
- 9. Once dried, remove the beef biltong from the oven and let it cool completely.
- 10. Store the beef biltong in an airtight container or ziplock bag.
