Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and mashed bananas.
- Add flour mixture to banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Stir in 1/2 cup of the banana batter.
- Pour remaining banana batter into prepared pan. Spoon cream cheese mixture over batter. Swirl with a knife.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
